Based on the true story of a seductive con woman whose crooked schemes force her to move from town to town while remaining devoted to her daughter. Ultimately, her cons lead her to California, where she meets and marries a wealthy litigator and horse breeder. When her husband learns of her secret life, and threatens to expose her carefully crafted web of lies, she turns to murder to protect her identity and freedom. Her husband’s mysterious disappearance leads the police to uncover her secret life of an experienced con woman with a lengthy rap sheet. With the authorities closing in, she goes on the run and her life slowly crumbles.
